LoJack Helps Police Rescue Two Abducted Children; Recover Stolen Lexus

On Tuesday, a 7-month-old boy and a 2-year-old boy were abducted from a library in Burien, Washington by a suspect that has known gang affiliations and a history of domestic violence, assault and weapons use. According to reports, he assaulted his ex-girlfriend and then fled in her LoJack-equipped 1994 dark green Lexus GS300 with her two children. This event triggered an Amber Alert and a filed stolen vehicle report activated the Lexus’ LoJack System. Detectives with the King County Sheriff’s Office were able to detect the LoJack signal emitting from the Lexus and managed to block the car in an alley. Officers took the suspect to the ground and placed him into custody, while the two children were found safe in the back seat of the car. Officers said that the suspect was high on drugs and he was carrying a .38 caliber handgun in the vehicle.
King County Sheriff Steve Strachan stated, “We’re thankful for the (LoJack) technology, we’re thankful for the Amber Alert and how well it worked, and we’re very relieved to have a positive outcome on this case.”
