LoJack Corporation Helps Dallas Police Recover Four Stolen Vehicles Valued at Over $68,000 – Two Arrested
- February 1, 2013
One of the great benefits of a LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System is that when we find one stolen vehicle, many times it leads to the recovery of other stolen vehicles.
Case in point, on January 2, 2013, the owner of a 2004 Cadillac Deville contacted the DeSoto Texas Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen from his driveway.
The DeSoto Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System transponder concealed in the Cadillac Deville. The officers tracked the vehicle to a house in the 1900 block of Nomas Street. Officers were able to determine that this stolen Cadillac was inside the fenced-in backyard. Officers could tell that there were several individuals inside the house, but they refused to open the front door. A search warrant was executed, and inside the backyard, officers found the stolen 2004 Cadillac Deville, valued at $8000, as well as the following vehicles:
- A 2007 Chevrolet pickup, valued at $38,000
- A 2003 Cadillac Escalade, valued at $10,000
- A 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche, valued at $12,000
There were three suspects inside the house. The owner of the house admitted that he allowed a friend to park these stolen vehicles in his backyard. He was arrested. Another individual at the house had a felony warrant and was also arrested. The stolen Cadillac Deville that led to the other recoveries and arrests was recovered with no damage.
The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the 2004 Cadillac Deville in June of 2007 at Sewell Village Cadillac in Dallas Texas.
