The LoJack® System Helps Gardena, California Police Recover Stolen Cadillac Escalade in SEVEN MINUTES!
- April 23, 2013
It may have been St. Patrick’s Day, but the ‘Luck of the Irish’ was not working for this Compton, California resident when his vehicle was stolen, and the thief turned out to be someone he knows quite well.
On March 17th, 2013, the owner of a Cadillac Escalade contacted the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, Compton Station, to report that his vehicle was stolen from the driveway of his Compton residence.
The SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into their state and federal crime computers. The LoJack® device concealed in the Cadillac, which was installed at Cadillac of Whittier, CA, was automatically activated.
Within just a few minutes, a Gardena, CA police officer picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. He tracked the Escalade to W. 135th Street where he observed one male suspect washing the car. The suspect, who was the vehicle owner’s son, was taken into custody and the Cadillac was soon returned to its owner.
