LAPD Recovers Stolen Scion TC Assisted by the LoJack® System in Only Four Minutes!
- June 6, 2013
These Los Angeles residents were glad that they had the LoJack® system installed in their Scion TC when it was stolen one Tuesday evening. It’s likely they were ecstatic when their local law enforcement was able to track down their car using LoJack in only FOUR MINUTES after activation!
On May 21st, 2013, the TC’s owners of a 2005 Scion TC contacted the Los Angeles Police Department-Devonshire Division to report that their vehicle was stolen. LAPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Scion, which was installed at Toyota of Santa Monica, CA.
Just a few minutes later, patrol officers from LAPD-Mission Division picked up the homing signal from the Scion on the LoJack tracking computer installed in their police vehicles. They located the vehicle parked behind a motel. The officers then observed a female suspect enter the vehicle and drive away. LAPD was able to stop the TC and take her into custody. The Scion was soon returned to its grateful owner.
