The LoJack® Early Warning System Helps San Antonio, Texas Police Recover Stolen Suzuki GSXR 600 Motorcycle
- June 25, 2013
If you’ve ever been the victim of vehicle theft, you may have considered how convenient it would be if your car, truck, van or motorcycle could call you and let you know it’s being stolen. Well, the Early Warning System from LoJack ® is based on that premise. When your machine is moved without your permission, you get a phone call, email and/or text letting you know so you can call local law enforcement right away. In this case, the owner of a Suzuki GSXR 600 motorcycle got the call, and police got his bike back for him the same day.
On June 5th, 2013, the Suzuki’s owner was alerted by the LoJack Early Warning system that his motorcycle had been moved. After checking his parking spot and discovering his bike was missing, he immediately notified the San Antonio Police Department to report his bike was stolen from his assigned parking spot at his apartment complex. SAPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Suzuki motorcycle, which was installed at Alamo Cycle Plex in San Antonio, TX.
A short while later, officers from the SAPD picked up the homing signals from the Suzuki on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the bike to a large wooded area where it was found hidden and abandoned. The GSXR 600 was soon returned to its grateful owner.
