San Diego, California Police Recover Nissan Pathfinder Stolen During Burglary, Assisted by the LoJack® System
- October 17, 2013
The San Diego, CA resident in this case was a double victim. His home was burglarized and the thieves took his Nissan Pathfinder on their way out. Luckily, the owner had a LoJack® system installed in his SUV, so his local police, with the help of LoJack, were able to recover the Pathfinder in less than three hours after activation.
On September 30th, 2013, the Nissan’s owner contacted the San Diego Police Department to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Pathfinder, which was installed at Miller Nissan in Van Nuys, CA.
A short time later, officers from the San Diego PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the Nissan to a residential neighborhood near San Jacinto Blvd. and San Jacinto Court, where they found it parked and abandoned. The undamaged Pathfinder was soon returned to its very happy owner.
