The LoJack® System Helps California Police Recover Stolen Lincoln MKZ in Five Minutes

When the California victims in this case decided to purchase the LoJack® system for their 2013 Lincoln MKZ a little over five months ago, it’s doubtful that they expected to be utilizing it so soon. When their car was discovered missing very early one Friday morning, their local law enforcement, assisted by LoJack, were able to recover it in only FIVE MINUTES after activation.
On November 22nd, 2013, the Lincoln’s owner contacted local police to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the MKZ, which was installed at Advantage Ford Lincoln Mercury in Duarte, CA.
Just a few minutes later, patrol officers picked up the homing signal from the stolen sedan on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol units. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computer, the officers began tracking the stolen vehicle. The officers located the Lincoln near Beaudry Ave and Mignonette Street, where it was found parked and unoccupied. The MKZ, valued at $32,500, was soon returned to its relieved owner.
