LoJack® System Helps DeKalb County Police Air Unit Recover a Stolen 2014 Toyota Corolla
- March 6, 2015
The owners of a 2014 Toyota contacted the DeKalb County Police Department to report that his vehicle had been taken during the night while he was at a home.
The DeKalb County PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.
Within a short time of the LoJack activation a DeKalb County PD helicopter equipped with a LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) began to pick up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the PTC that were installed in the police cars and two of the Aerial Support Helicopters. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the police tracked the Toyota to an apartment complex and with the help of the police cars on the ground located the stolen Toyota parked in front of one of the buildings.
After a check of the area the Toyota was towed by the officers to the impound lot for further investigation by a detective.
The owner was glad he had purchased the LoJack when he bought the Toyota new at Atlanta Toyota.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota in July 2014 at Atlanta Toyota.
