LoJack® System Helps the Elizabeth Police Department Recover a Stolen 2013 Porsche Panamera

  • June 16, 2015

The owners of a 2013 Porsche Panamera contacted the Jersey City Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their driveway in Jersey City. The owner reported hearing noise in the driveway and when they looked out the Porsche was gone.

The Jersey City PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Porsche.

A short while later, officers from the Elizabeth Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal coming from the stolen Porsche with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Porsche to Dewitt Road in the City of Elizabeth, where the vehicle was located abandoned. The Porsche was recovered undamaged.
